City Streets & Tangled Webs (Single)

by Ryan M. Brewer

/

about

The first single from Ryan M. Brewer's impending fourth studio album "Apophobe".

lyrics

Her lips are different now -
like a blind man telling how to get around this town by letting out a shout and listening to the streets echo the sound.

Her feet are standing in the rain.

She's got a stranger's eyes -
the cordial caution kind on a barstool late at night while you're flipping on the lights. She's doing her best to sort through all the lies.

Her feet are standing in the rain.
She's just waiting for a train.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave speeding 'neath these city streets...

I love them big city lights -
that frantic city life just hauling my guitar, busking bar to bar, standing on the moon shooting for stars.

Oh, my feet are standing in the rain.

There's bodies everywhere -
they'll make you stop and stare, set fire to the air and swear that they don't care. "Baby, we'll go far away. I swear."

Oh, my feet are standing in the rain.
I'm just waiting for a train.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave speeding 'neath these city streets...

Oh, what a tangled web we weave speeding 'neath these city streets...
I said "Oh, what a tangled web we weave. We're just speeding 'neath these city streets. Oh, these city streets."

Her lips are different now -
like a blind man telling how to get around this town...
